Grants and Awards

CPPE rewards students, faculty and community leaders with a number of grants and awards.

“Student Venture Grants” are awarded to CMU
students who successfully propose a project that
addresses a compelling social issue at CMU or in
the surrounding community.

“Ethics Educator” awards are awarded to educators
who demonstrate excellence in the teaching of ethics.

The Oppenheimer-Mancuso (Lazorshak) Award is an award given to a philosophy major in his or her senior year who submits an outstanding essay on the subject of the necessity for the teaching of ethics and/or character development in the elementary grades.
